Jeanne Burris Johnson builds work slowly and on purpose. Her paintings, mixed media pieces, and fused glass are grounded in precision, restraint, and an unwillingness to settle for what’s merely attractive. She’s drawn to moments that aren’t posed or perfected, images that hold because they’ve been resolved, not polished.

Her work has appeared in juried exhibitions and is held in private collections across the United States. Her background includes years of working inside galleries as well as building her own practice, a perspective that quietly shapes how the work is made, presented, and released into the world. I don’t chase trends or paint crowd-pleasers. I build work that lasts.

Ordinary moments interest me most, especially when they’re pushed. Whether it’s a photorealistic painting that makes you hesitate, or kiln-fired glass and collage that plays with texture and structure, every piece is built to hold space and earn attention. Nothing is accidental. Nothing is filler.
